Work consists of the modernization of (2) two of the (5) five passenger elevators and elevator machine rooms at the cajundome (elevators no. 3 and 5). The work will include the installation of new elevator hoist equipment/gripper racks and associated controller and driver units in the associated elevator machine rooms as well as the removal of asbestos-containing wall insulation and painting of the floors in the associated elevator machine rooms. The subject elevator cabs will receive new ceilings, lighting and control panels. Replacements will also include new elevator call equipment and elevator landing position indicators at each floor level. Related electrical work generally consists of disconnecting the existing equipment in the machine room's and hoistways of elevators 3 and 5, reworking and reconnecting the electrical as needed for connections to the new elevator equipment.
