2024 Roadway Paving Projects (RFP)

Seeking qualified asphalt paving companies, acting singularly or in consortium, for road paving projects in the town. All existing pavements will be reclaimed to a minimum depth of eight inches (8") followed by regrading of the roadbed to attain a crown of two and a half percent (2. 5%) or a quarter inch (0. 25") per foot. Prior to beginning reclaiming, excess shoulder materials will be removed where at, or higher than, existing pavements to accommodate grading work and the addition of loam upon completion of paving. Roadbeds will then be watered and compacted to ninety-five percent (95%) compaction, which the town may opt to test prior to paving. All shoulders should then again be cleaned of excess material to allow for placement of four inches (4") of screened loam. See outside link.

Proposing to combine multiple paving projects into one complete project. The projects consist of 4 roads requiring a complete Pulverization and 3" thick pavement installation as well as 1 road requiring an full width 3" surface mill and 3" overlay. The Pulverization and pave projects will consist of the complete pulverization of existing pavement while mixing recycled asphalt into the subgrade to create a solid road base. The pavement installation would consist of¾" asphalt. The full width surface mill and overlay projects will consist of a full width 3" mill of the existing roadway. See outside link.
