15th Street Water Tower Valve Vault Improvements

Description: Description of Work: The Work shall be completed under one General Construction Contract and consists of all labor, skill and materials required to properly construct the Project. The Project generally consists of the following primary components:1.Demolition: Remove and dispose of existing 20-inch ductile iron pipe, fittings, an altitude valve, butterfly valve, and related appurtenances in an existing water tower valve vault. Work also includes the removal and replacement of a 20-inch steel inlet/outlet riser pipe between the valve vault and the wet riser (above grade) of the multi-legged water tower. 2.Improvements: Furnish and install new 20-inch ductile iron process pipe and fittings; a new 10-inch electrically actuated butterfly valve; a new 20-inch manually actuated butterfly valve; a new 20-inch steel inlet/outlet pipe; welded connection to the plate ring inside of the existing water tower wet riser; concrete thrust block; a sample tap and piping to a pressure transmitter; and related appurtenances in the valve vault of the water tower. 3.Electrical Construction Work: Generally includes all electrical construction associated with providing power to the new 10-inch electrically actuated butterfly valve and a pressure transmitter. Work at the valve vault includes control panel demolition, new above grade control panel construction and installation; control wiring; radio telemetry; and related Work. Bidder will not provide control system programming.
