About this conference
The Southern Plains Tribal Health Board (SPTHB) is proud to host the 2026 Training Summit, a dynamic event designed to empower and support the tribal public health workforce across Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas. This hybrid summit will feature a variety of interactive sessions focused on real-world skill development, culturally grounded practices, and emerging public health priorities affecting Native communities. Key topics include Mental Health & Well-Being, Workforce Development, Emergency Preparedness, Health Equity, Public Health Data & Systems, and Community Engagement Strategies. The event combines virtual courses with select in-person sessions at the Fordson Hotel in Oklahoma City, particularly highlighting the 'Ending the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Hepatitis C Virus (HCV), and Syphilis Epidemics in Indian Country Program' in collaboration with the Indian Country ECHO Program. Attendees can expect days of learning, collaboration, and community-driven public health practice.
