Spring 2027 Seminar

The Midwest Leadership Institute's Spring 2027 Seminar is an intensive 4.5-day program designed for local government organizational leaders. It focuses on enhancing interpersonal leadership skills, understanding individual and organizational behavior, and developing self-awareness and emotional intelligence crucial for successful leadership. The curriculum covers ten learning pods including: The State of Today and the Effect on the State of Tomorrow; Fundamental Concepts for Leading People; Judgment – The Foundation of Successful Leadership; Emotions – When Working with People Gets Tough; Power, Authority, Motivation, and Influence; Change: Resistance, Motivation, and Performance; The Relentless Pursuit of an Ethical Culture; Aligning Goals, Tasks, and Relationships; The Role of Self-Awareness in Leadership; and Balancing Work, Family and Self. Participants engage in lectures, exercises, team discussions, and real-world scenario discussions with experienced local government professionals and organizational psychiatrists. The seminar aims to help participants navigate complex challenges in local government, build good judgment, self-awareness, ethics, and other essential leadership qualities, while fostering a network of organizational leaders.
