Proposers Day: Promethean Clay

This in-person Proposers Day, hosted by MTO, aims to inform potential proposers about the objectives of the Promethean Clay program before a planned program solicitation. The Promethean Clay program focuses on developing a new class of energy storage devices that forgo rigid exoskeletons in favor of mechanically co-designed materials. These materials integrate structural support with energy storage functionality, addressing challenges in maintaining continuous mechanical connectivity and uniform stress distribution. The program seeks to demonstrate prototypes with superior thermal resilience and safety performance, ultimately establishing a novel paradigm for energy system design unconstrained by traditional packaging, offering significant performance gains and promoting domestic materials sourcing and manufacturing.
