The Nevada Department of Education, in collaboration with Clark County School District, Washoe County School District, State Public Charter School Authority, and the Nevada Office of Emergency Management, will be hosting two one-day conferences. One conference will be held in northern Nevada (October 12, 2026) and one in southern Nevada (November 3, 2026). The conference focuses on building safer schools through collaboration, innovation, and student well-being. Key topics include School Safety & Emergency Preparedness, Student Mental Health & Wellness, Effective & Responsible Use of Technology, and Cross-Agency Collaboration & Best Practices. This annual event, mandated by Nevada Revised Statute (NRS) 388.265, provides essential training, collaboration, and professional development opportunities at no cost to attendees, bringing together educators, administrators, school resource officers, emergency managers, public safety professionals, mental health partners, and community stakeholders from across the state to strengthen school safety and preparedness.
