International Association of Fire Chiefs

The International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) is a nonprofit professional association that represents the leadership of firefighters and emergency responders worldwide, providing leadership, information, education and representation to current and future fire-rescue and EMS chiefs. IAFC counts more than 12,000 fire chiefs and emergency officers across multiple countries and supports public-safety policy, professional development and all-hazards response; recent IAFC activity includes publishing and promoting resources such as the Sourcewell guide to help fire-rescue agencies adopt emerging technologies (Nov 25, 2025).
