About this conference
The workshop will be held at the NOAA Center for Weather and Climate Prediction (NCWCP) in College Park, Maryland on September 1--4, 2026. It will be jointly hosted by the University of Maryland Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center (ESSIC) and co-sponsored by the Climate Prediction Center (CPC) of the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) within the National Weather Service (NWS). This event marks the official joining of the Climate Diagnostics and Prediction Workshop (CDPW) and the Climate Prediction Applications Science Workshop (CPASW). The workshop will feature oral presentations, invited speakers, panel discussions, and poster sessions, focusing on four major themes: Emerging Technologies for Prediction of Subseasonal-to-Seasonal (S2S) Climate; Advances in Monitoring and Diagnostics of S2S Climate; Applications of S2S climate information in Impact-based Decision Support Services (IDSS); and Mid-Atlantic Regional Climate Analysis, Applications, and Services. A special session will also celebrate the 50-year legacy of NOAA's Climate Workshop / CDPW, highlighting major achievements, milestones, long-term impacts, and future vision in S2S climate research, operations, and services.
