New Mexico Wildland Urban Fire Summit

The 2026 New Mexico Wildland Urban Fire Summit (WUFS) theme is 'Adapting Together in a Changing Fire Ecosystem'. The summit focuses on how communities, landscape management, and wildfire response can adapt to be safer and more effective. Presentations will be themed around the National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy pillars: Fire Adapted Communities, Restore and Maintain Resilient Landscapes, and Safe and Effective Wildfire Response. WUFS is New Mexico’s leading event for wildfire preparedness and planning, bringing together community members, community leaders, fire service professionals, fire service volunteers, and federal, state, tribal, and local governments. Attendees can expect to learn the latest techniques, strategies, and resources for wildfire preparedness, mitigation, and recovery, and expand their network of peers and experts to support fire/disaster resiliency goals. The event is open to the public.
