The National Mine Rescue, First Aid, Bench, Technician Team, and Pre-Shift Competition serves as a training tool designed to sharpen skills and test the knowledge of mine rescue team members for metal, nonmetal, and coal mines. These competitions aim to improve response capabilities to mine emergencies, fostering cooperation between mining companies, equipment manufacturers, and Federal and State agencies to enhance mine rescue preparedness. Participants engage in solving hypothetical mine emergency problems under timed conditions, observed by judges adhering to complex rules.
