National Conference on Cultural Property Protection

Hosted annually by the Smithsonian Institution, the National Conference on Cultural Property Protection (NCCPP) brings together professionals in the operational and physical security field from museums, libraries, universities, and security agencies across the U.S. and around the world. The conference offers insight and proven solutions for new and seasoned professionals in cultural property protection, with a focus on security basics in an era of constant change. The 2026 conference, themed "Leveraging Partnerships: Collaborative Approaches to Cultural Property Protection," includes two days of expert-led sessions and panel discussions, networking opportunities, and a dedicated day of site visits to local cultural facilities in Washington, D.C.
