Legislative Staff Management Institute

NCSL's Legislative Staff Management Institute (LSMI) is intended for senior-level legislative staff and staffers on their way to such positions. The program focuses on both self- and social awareness, stimulating introspection, and moving to programs highlighting group dynamics and the challenges of managing those dynamics in the complex world of the legislature. It offers six days of interactive and experience-based learning seminars covering leadership topics such as Brand Exploration, Appreciating Different Perspectives, Mindfulness, Working With Difficult People, Teamwork, Communication, Leading Diverse Teams, Creating an Effective Workplace Culture, Assessing Risk and Fear, and optional Leadership Coaching. It also includes Tracom's Social Styles assessment, off-site activities, and networking opportunities.
