National Conference of State Legislatures

The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), founded in 1975, is a nonpartisan organization that represents state legislators and legislative staff from the 50 states, commonwealths, territories and the District of Columbia. Its mission is to advance the effectiveness, independence and integrity of legislatures and to foster interstate cooperation; NCSL provides bipartisan policy research, training, technical assistance and convening opportunities such as the NCSL Legislative Summit. NCSL has recently marked its 50th anniversary and published a 2024 Annual Report describing 2024 as an exceptional year in its work to serve and strengthen state legislatures.
