Korean Treasures Symposium

A two-day international gathering hosted by the Freer Research Center in Washington, DC, dedicated to Korean art collecting—both premodern and contemporary—in Korea and beyond. It is held in conjunction with the exhibition "Korean Treasures: Collected, Cherished, Shared," which honors the practice of collecting to preserve memories, express one's taste, and safeguard traditions. The symposium includes a keynote lecture by Youngna Kim of Seoul National University and a celebratory reception on the evening of January 22, followed by a full day of talks and discussions by renowned scholars and curators on January 23, covering the Korean art market and collecting from premodern times to the present.
