About this conference
The Indo-Pacific Irregular Warfare Symposium aims to increase awareness of Indo-Pacific operational challenges, capability needs, and partnerships among key players in industry, academia, and various government organizations. The symposium provides a forum for Special Operations Forces (SOF) regional and maritime commands to convene, focusing on interoperability, building and strengthening international partnerships, and educating industry on current capability gaps. The event addresses the critical importance of the Indo-Pacific region as a primary Area of Operations, given the significant increase in Chinese defense spending and the rapid preparations of the People’s Liberation Army. It seeks to counter this through U.S. and international partnerships, prioritizing the region to overcome logistical challenges and strengthen security. The symposium promotes a rapid shift toward a robust, localized defense industrial base capable of mass-producing affordable autonomous systems and precision weapons, uniting senior SOF leadership and industry stakeholders to secure this vital region through modernization and strengthened partnerships.
