About this conference
The 75th Annual Current Strategy Forum (CSF) at the Naval War College in Newport, hosted by the Secretary of the Navy, offers an opportunity for the Nation's public servants, scholars, and senior military officers to join the College faculty and students to discuss the future strategy of the United States. The forum encourages a wide-ranging discussion on national and international security. This year's theme, "The Navy, Maritime Strategy, and National Security," will examine ways to meet the dangers of great-power competition, asymmetric threats, and rapid technological change. Discussions will cover preserving peace through a lethal military and robust nuclear deterrent, the importance of a dynamic economy with strong industrial, agricultural, energy, science, and technology sectors, and the vital role of naval services in national security. The forum will address the urgent need to rebuild the fleet, revitalize the maritime industrial base, and change Department of the Navy operations, emphasizing sustained investment in shipyard capacity and skilled workers. It will also assess how technologies like AI, space access, hypersonic weapons, and unmanned systems are driving changes in warfare and enhancing future force lethality to gain a warfighting edge.
