About this conference

The Annual Meeting of the Membership is held annually during the summer. This in-depth, targeted training and professional development includes offerings for those new to the profession to our most senior level members. The meeting embarks on two and a half days of presentations, discussions, open forums and networking opportunities spanning all areas of research administration including, but not limited to, Pre-Award, Post-Award, Compliance, Departmental, Intellectual Property, Contracts, International, Predominantly Undergraduate Institutions, Electronic Research Administration, and Medical Center/Hospital Issues. Attendees have the opportunity to participate in sessions over a full range of topics to support their need for information in a variety of areas. This annual reunion of the membership also includes Sunday dinner, Tuesday evening event, dinner groups, regional networking events, and numerous volunteer activities. The Annual Meeting is an inclusive opportunity for everyone in the research administration community to engage in an exceptional learning experience, intended to help the NCURA community advance their career, as well as increase effectiveness and productivity at their institution. NCURA welcomes proposals that reflect different perspectives, sound adult learning principles and reflect the best thinking in the profession, informed by theory, research and practice. Content includes innovative, cutting-edge content, evidence-based practice, regulatory information, best business practices, and issues important to international audiences. Instructional Design focuses on stimulating discussion, audience engagement, knowledge transfer, and case studies. The audience includes those new to the profession, as well as emerging leaders through executive-level, seasoned professionals, and different types of adult learners.
