57th Annual NIEA Convention & Trade Show

The 57th Annual National Indian Education Association (NIEA) Convention & Trade Show will be held in Buffalo, NY, from October 7-10, 2026. The convention invites proposals aligned with its theme 'Strength in Community: Building the Future Together,' focusing on engaging, research-informed, and practice-based sessions created by and with Indigenous educators, experts, and communities. The event aims to elevate Indigenous ways of knowing, center community-based knowledge, and support the holistic success of Native learners, families, and communities across educational settings. It includes Convention Sessions for the general audience, Educator Day Sessions for PK-12 educators (focusing on practical strategies and classroom resources), and Student Day Sessions for youth in grades 6-12. NIEA is dedicated to providing networking and learning opportunities to improve the quality of Native education.
