About this conference

The Investigators' Workshop (IWS) serves as the primary forum for all principal investigators to present their progress and results from research and technology tasks funded by NASA's Human Research Program to program leadership. Furthermore, this annual event facilitates crucial cross-discipline interaction among a diverse spectrum of investigators both within and external to NASA. Attendees will engage with scientists and researchers who are advancing cutting-edge, interdisciplinary methodologies essential for ensuring safe, productive, and efficient human spaceflight. The central theme for the 2027 IWS is 'Moonbound!', emphasizing NASA’s strategic objective to establish a permanent and sustainable human presence on the Moon. Presentations will focus on the research imperative for understanding how humans can effectively live and thrive in such an environment. Scientific sessions will be organized around key disciplines including Biological and Physical Sciences, Human Factors and Behavioral Performance, Human Health Countermeasures, Research Operations and Integration, Space Radiation, and the Translational Research Institute for Space Health (TRISH).
