2026 Tribal Self-Governance Conference

The conference focuses on strengthening Tribal Self-Governance and Tribal sovereignty by supporting Tribal Nations through education, training, technical assistance, strategic partnerships, and public awareness initiatives. It provides a forum for Tribal and Federal officials to discuss issues, exchange ideas, and develop solutions to improve the Tribal-Federal partnership across various sectors including health, economic development, land stewardship, public safety, and K-12 education. The program includes tribal delegation meetings, trainings on the DOI Self-Governance Database, and sessions on topics such as AI utilization by Tribes, advancing Tribal priorities in Washington, Indian health care, public land stewardship, self-governance transitions, probate functions, negotiation, federal funding, social media strategies, health revenue management, strategic planning, federal law, Medicaid updates, storytelling, workforce capacity building, the federal appropriations process, and tribal pharmacy consortia.
