About this conference
Join the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) for its signature conference, the 2026 Training Summit, in Arlington, VA. This event provides an opportunity for emergency responders, firefighters, and EMS providers from across the U.S. to participate in valuable classroom training, share ideas, and exchange best practices. Attendees can choose from breakout sessions covering key topics in three tracks: first responder health, safety and training; leadership; and recruitment and retention. The Summit, themed “Prepare. Protect. Inspire.”, includes two days of classroom-based sessions with nationally-known instructors, keynote speakers, general sessions, and networking events. It also features a vendor expo and 18 courses relating to critical topics impacting the volunteer emergency services, such as NFPA/OSHA compliant training, developing leaders, brush fire response, AI for fire prevention education, teamwork, and recruitment and retention. The event kicks off with an ice cream social and registration on June 25.
