About this conference
The 2026 New Director Training is hosted by the Administration for Community Living (ACL) and will take place from April 28-29, 2026, at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center in Rockville, MD. This event is mandatory for new directors who started in February 2025 or later for federal programs such as SHIP, SMP, and MIPPA. Experienced directors may also be invited based on interest and registration capacity. The conference sessions are scheduled from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET each day, with additional days (April 27 and April 30) recommended for travel.
