About this conference
Join IaPELRA for 2 days of learning, including sessions from Rachel Shaw: "Where Has Everyone Gone? Navigating Leave and Accommodation in Today's Workplace" and "Why We Matter: The Real Impact of HR, Risk, and Labor Relations in Today's Workplace". Participants will learn how to navigate the intersection of ADA, FMLA, and other leave laws with confidence, manage increasing accommodation and leave requests, address patterns such as high intermittent leave use, support supervisors in decision-making, and build defensible processes. The conference will also explore why technical knowledge alone is not enough, the real-world impact of HR decisions, how to build confidence in high-stakes, imperfect situations, and what it takes to move from reactive problem-solving to intentional leadership. Additional sessions include Retirement Plan Design, IaPELRA Networking & Peer Learning Session Break Out Groups, Compensation Best Practices & Market Insights for Public Sector, an ADA Workshop, Legislative Updates & Legal Q&A, and an Annual Board/Officer Elections and NPELRA Update for members.
