About this conference
The Food Sovereignty Summit is a national gathering hosted by the First Nations' Native Agriculture and Food Systems Investments program, bringing together Native food systems practitioners and community partners to strengthen relationships, share knowledge, and advance Native-led food sovereignty efforts. Grounded in Indigenous values and cultural knowledge, the summit creates space for collaboration, storytelling, and practical learning across Native communities. Participants will engage in hands-on workshops, cultural activities, and conversations exploring food sovereignty, community health, land stewardship, traditional foodways, and sustainable local food economies. The gathering honors the connections between food, culture, identity, and self-determination while uplifting the health, resilience, and wellbeing of Tribal communities and future generations.
