About this conference
Join AASCU for an in-person Hill Day where leaders from regional public universities (RPUs) can make their voices heard in the halls of Congress. This event provides a timely opportunity to engage with federal delegations to promote the successes of the higher education sector and its positive social and economic impacts on communities. Attendees will advocate for federal institutional and student support programs, including Pell Grants, Postsecondary Student Success Grants, Minority-Serving Institutions Grants, TRIO and GEAR-UP, and the Augustus F. Hawkins Centers of Excellence Grants. Key policy issues include preserving federal funding for student financial aid and institutional assistance, the implementation of accountability provisions in H.R. 1, and preserving funding authority for Minority-Serving Institutions, while highlighting the crucial role of RPUs.
