About this conference
The Western States and Provinces Deer and Elk Workshop is a biennial meeting held in odd numbered years sanctioned by WAFWA. This workshop provides a forum where leading deer and elk managers and researchers share research results, management strategies, and emerging issues in the realms of deer and elk management throughout North America. Hosted by the Western Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies (WAFWA) and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, the 17th Biennial WAFWA Deer and Elk Workshop will be presented from April 12-15th, 2027 in Ketchikan, Alaska. WAFWA represents 24 states, provinces, and territories and is a strong advocate for their authority to manage fish and wildlife within their borders. The theme for this year's event is ‘From Rainforests to Rangelands’ and will feature a wide variety of presentations and discussions regarding deer and elk management and research from across their range.
