About this conference
The Annual Conference on Financial Market Regulation (CFMR) is co-hosted by the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Economic and Risk Analysis (DERA), Lehigh University’s Center for Financial Services (CFS), and the University of Virginia’s Richard A. Mayo Center for Asset Management (Mayo Center). Now in its thirteenth year, the conference brings together participants to exchange views on issues relevant to the Commission. It covers five topic areas: asset management, corporate finance, enforcement, financial intermediation, and market microstructure and trading. Specific topics include investment advisers, ETPs and liquidity (including crypto ETPs), corporate disclosures, IPOs, M&A, fintech, corporate governance, fraud detection, whistleblower, compliance, broker-dealers, financial institutions, clearing agencies, credit ratings, and secondary market trading in various assets including digital assets. This event fosters an exchange of ideas among academics, government officials, industry professionals, and SEC staff members.
