Zachary Community School District

This planning guide outlines the strategic framework for the Zachary Early College Academy (ZECA), a program designed to accelerate students' educational journeys by enabling them to complete college-level coursework while in high school. The academy focuses on providing a rigorous and supportive learning environment, offering flexible in-person, hybrid, and virtual modalities, alongside comprehensive academic and advising support. Its vision is to empower students to achieve an associate degree or an individualized collegiate pathway, developing essential skills for success in college, careers, and leadership.

The board considered updates to several files including File KIA regarding political campaign materials and solicitations, File JCDB concerning the student dress code related to skirts in 5th and 6th grade, and File JHE regarding student publications. The board also reviewed policy updates recommended by Forethought Consulting and Hammonds, Sills, Adkins, Guice, Noah & Perkins LLP. Additionally, Dr. London led a discussion with the board regarding residency and enrollment policies.

The Resource Committee meeting included a presentation of the Monthly Financial Report to the board.

The Zachary Community School Board Meeting included the swearing in of Dr. Tracey Taylor-Jarrell for the District 1 board seat. Mrs. Brydie Manuel was recognized for her retirement. Superintendent Necaise provided an update, and Mr. Jordan presented the Annual District Safety Update. The board discussed and tabled the Board Meeting and Committee Meeting Dates for 2026 until the December board meeting. Dr. London introduced the Board Internship Students. Agenda items for the December 2, 2025, board meeting were set, including board elections.

The work session included discussions on the consideration of Committee of the Whole Meetings and Board Meeting Dates for 2026, as well as Professional Learning Updates.
