The work to be performed under this contract shall consist of furnishing all labor, machinery, tools, rigging, brushes, material, equipment, bonds and insurance necessary to improve the Elevated Water Storage Tank. The work includes cleaning, abrasive blasting, hand scraping, power tool cleaning, including proper handling and disposal of spent blast residue and other material, perform repairs, and paint the interior and exterior of one (1) 50,000 gallon double ellipsoidal elevated tank and associated tank improvements. The work also includes disinfection and sampling as required to place the elevated tank back in service. The work also includes proper containment of blast and paint residue and proper disposal of blast residue and clean-up of the site.\r \r The Village has one (1) Elevated Water Storage Tank (EWST) associated with its drinking water distribution system, and this is the only source of distribution storage for the system. Therefore, in order to maintain adequate pressure in the distribution system during the period of time that the EWST is offline, a temporary pressure control system must be utilized. The Village will be responsible for the primary means of maintaining pressure, which is through the operation of High Service Pumps at the Water Treatment Plant. However, there may be circumstances that prevent constant operation of the High Service Pumps, so a secondary temporary pressure control system shall be utilized. This secondary temporary pressure control system shall consist of hydro-pneumatic pressure tank equipment with adequate capacity to maintain pressure in the distribution system for a short period of time while the High Service Pumps are offline. The Scope of Work under this Contract includes the construction, maintenance, and operation of this hydro-pneumatic pressure tank equipment and temporary fire hydrant pressure relief valves to be placed at locations within the Village designated by the Village.
