Current inmate telephone systems provide audio recordings, but manual review is resource-intensive and limited in scope. We are exploring solutions that leverage artificial intelligence (AI), natural language processing (NLP), and advanced analytics to automatically transcribe, translate, and analyze inmate communications, and to correlate those communications with other available inmate communications and intelligence related data sources. The objective is to improve detection of criminal activity, contraband smuggling, gang communication and coordination, acts of terrorism, financial fraud, human trafficking, and other illicit activity conducted through inmate communications.
