Safety Inspections: No-load, full-load and/or tests shall be performed as required by the standards detailed in paragraph 2. The Coast Guard Academy’s existing elevator maintenance contractor shall be responsible for conducting the tests. The inspection form GSA 55, Certification of Elevator Inspection, (Technical Exhibit 2), shall be used to document the certification of inspection of the elevators. Maintenance Inspections: Maintenance inspections shall be made of each elevator system. The inspection contractor shall inspect each elevator and elevator system for maintenance deficiencies. The contractor shall record the results of each inspection using a checklist format equal to the checklists provided in Appendix A to ASME A17.2, Guide for Inspection of Elevators, Escalators, and Moving Walks. This form shall include a section where the contractor shall record specific deficiencies and/or recommendations. The contractor shall submit a blank copy of their Elevator Inspection Checklist Form to the Government’s Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) for the government’s approval. This blank form shall be submitted to the COR within 10 calendar days after award of the contract. See attached file.
