This document details the English Learner Program Evaluation for Southwest School Corporation, initiated during the 2024-2025 school year. The evaluation analyzed equitable representation, academic achievement, programming, professional learning, family engagement, and resource allocation for English Learners. The resulting plan outlines SMART goals for program improvement, to be achieved by the end of the 2025-2026 school year, with a focus on enhancing elementary and secondary EL programming, and strengthening professional learning and teacher capacity.

This English Learner Program Evaluation for Cedar Crest Intermediate School systematically assesses the current state of its EL program. Based on the Castañeda v. Pickard framework, the evaluation identifies needs and establishes SMART goals for the 2025-2026 school year. Key focus areas include improving EL instruction, increasing student literacy and math proficiency, enhancing professional development and teacher capacity, and strengthening family engagement, all aimed at ensuring meaningful access to rigorous academic standards for English Learners.

The executive board meeting agenda focused on several strategic planning steps scheduled for February through May 2026, including an in-person strategic plan sharing session and subsequent feedback discussions with regional stakeholders. A dedicated meeting is planned for the finalization of the SIEC Budget and Interlocal Budget, along with potential personnel changes, intended to be presented to the SIEC Governing Board in May for approval, which also includes the election of officers. The agenda also included a monthly budget update for December 2025 and a member discussion period.
