The Nova Scotia Early Learning Curriculum Framework establishes a comprehensive structure to guide educators in supporting children aged infancy to eight years old, rooted in a vision of children as capable, confident, and curious learners. It outlines foundational principles including Holistic Development, Reciprocal Relationships, Partnerships with Families and Communities, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Anti-racism, and Critical Reflection. This strategic plan update outlines three primary goals: demonstrating continuous improvement in instruction and student achievement, removing barriers to ensure a safe and healthy environment, and promoting and strengthening partnerships and community engagement. The plan details specific measures for each goal, including increasing student achievement in provincial assessments, improving teacher instructional practices, enhancing achievement for specific student groups, increasing student intellectual engagement, improving bullying and school safety metrics, decreasing disruptive behavior, expanding wellness programs, establishing a long-range facility plan, creating new partnerships, increasing community engagement meetings, and fostering positive media coverage.

This Regional Student Success Plan aims to provide a culturally and linguistically responsive, accessible, inclusive, and equitable education, empowering every student to excel. It focuses on two primary goals: building school communities where students, staff, and families experience belonging and healthy relationships (Well-Being), and ensuring each student meets expectations in all subject areas, particularly literacy and mathematics (Student Achievement). The plan outlines strategies including the implementation of a Well-being Action Plan, focused responsive instruction informed by student evidence, and the consistent incorporation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and High Leverage Practices to create a safe, dynamic, and thriving learning environment.

This Long Range Outlook for the South Shore Regional Centre for Education provides a vision for the future of education delivery, addressing shifting circumstances such as student enrolment and demographics within the context of strategic goals and priorities. Key focus areas include strengthening student achievement and engagement in Literacy and Numeracy, and enhancing student well-being through personalized learning and the cultivation of positive relationships among staff, students, families, and the broader community.

The Joint Accessibility Plan for Nova Scotia's Regional Centres for Education (RCEs) and the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial (CSAP) focuses on ensuring accessibility in public education across various areas, including communications, teaching and learning, employment, the built environment, and procurement. The plan aims to remove and prevent barriers for persons with disabilities, aligning with the Nova Scotia Accessibility Act's goal to make the province accessible by 2030. Key objectives include providing accessible learning and teaching experiences, promoting inclusivity, and implementing actions to enhance accessibility in websites, learning materials, employment practices, buildings, and procurement processes.
