The Seattle Waterfront Clean Energy Strategy provides a roadmap for developing clean energy infrastructure to electrify vehicles, vessels, rail, equipment, and buildings on Port of Seattle and Northwest Seaport Alliance properties. It forecasts a four-fold increase in port power needs by 2050, driven by shore power, and addresses infrastructure constraints. The strategy outlines 33 capital projects and eight strategic actions, including capacity improvements, a joint implementation framework, funding development, site master planning integration, resiliency assessment, clean technology promotion, and innovative business models, all aimed at achieving decarbonization goals and promoting environmental justice.
