Ohio Facilities Construction Commission

The meeting included welcoming attendees to the February 27, 2020 Organizational meeting of the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission, roll call, and the approval of the January 23, 2020 minutes. A presentation was given on a Corrective Action Program Application and Amendment for Massillon CSD, including background on the Corrective Action Program (CAP) and its guidelines.

The meeting addressed an ELPP Project Agreement Amendment for Oberlin CSD, involving a budget adjustment due to a reduction in building service areas and the removal of a storm shelter allowance. Settlement Agreements were approved for the DNR's Hocking Hills Visitor Center, DYS Juvenile Correctional Center/Sona Construction, Edgerton LSD, and East Cleveland CSD, each concerning disputes over project completion, defective work, or contractor negligence. The Executive Director reported on executed agreements and amendments, project activity, and a cash management improvement. Updates were provided on groundbreakings and dedications, and the Commission's 8th birthday was celebrated. The meeting also included a presentation on Construction During the Pandemic, highlighting safety measures implemented on worksites.

The strategic plan aims to establish the entity as the premier resource for public facilities construction through collaboration with partners. It focuses on planning, design, and construction of public facilities, emphasizing quality service, expertise, and knowledge sharing. Key goals include building quality facilities, facilitating well-planned and on-budget projects, embracing innovation, and cultivating partnerships for success.
