The City of Norwich (NPU) is soliciting proposals for Natural Gas Inspection Services to inspect and document natural gas distribution construction, maintenance, replacement, and related work across its system serving approximately 9,850 customers. The procurement (Ref. #26-39) seeks qualified companies to provide construction inspection services across multiple pressure classes and pipe materials. The opportunity is currently open for submissions through the City of Norwich Bonfire portal.

Provide new total trihalomethane (tthm) removal system and appurtenant work for the existing richard brown drive water storage tank which is a 0.275 MG welded steel tank approx 82' in height with a dia of approx 24'.Additional work will include the replacement of the interior cathodic protection system components, a new combination free chlorine/pH analyzer, and above-grade cabinet, a new-above-grade 12' x 10' structure, a new 30 KW diesel driven standby generator and related site work.

Work includes providing new exterior and interior coatings systems on an existing 400,000 GAL spheroidal water storage tank, a new aeration and mixing system, a new equipment building, and other ancillary improvements. Work will also include providing a new aeration and mixing system to remove tthms from the potable water stored in the tank, including a new surface floating aerator, tank mixer, roof-mounted blower, and an equipment shed to house the new control panels and other electrical and scada equipment. Rehabilitation of the existing tank, including removal and disposal of existing coatings systems on all exterior steel surfaces and interior steel surfaces (i.e., interior surfaces of tank ball), providing new coatings systems on all exterior steel.
