The State Banking Board convened to discuss a request from the Bank of North Dakota to approve certificates of deposit as eligible securities for pledging, in accordance with North Dakota Century Code Section 21-04-09. The request was motivated by the need for banks to pledge investments for public funds, particularly when securities mature and funds are temporarily held at the Bank of North Dakota. The Board approved the request.
