North Big Horn Hospital District

This Community Health Needs Assessment for Big Horn County aims to understand and address the health and well-being needs of its residents. Developed in collaboration by North Big Horn Hospital District and Three Rivers Health, the plan identifies key opportunities to improve healthcare by addressing rural health disparities and social determinants of health. Key focus areas include expanding mental health services, reducing transportation barriers, enhancing home-based care and visiting nurse services, and improving women's health care access to create a healthier future and ensure quality care across the region.

This Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) for North Big Horn Hospital District aims to identify and address the community's most critical health needs. The plan's primary focus is to improve mental health in Big Horn County by reducing suicide, depression, and anxiety over the next three years. Key strategies include implementing mental health education, prevention, and intervention strategies for both NBHHD employees and the community, with specific objectives to increase community awareness and provide employee training by the end of FY 2025.

The 2023-2025 Community Health Improvement Plan for NBHHD aims to enhance mental health within Big Horn County by reducing instances of suicide, depression, and anxiety. The plan focuses on two key objectives: increasing community awareness of mental health issues through targeted education for adults, teens, and youth, and providing comprehensive training to NBHHD employees on recognizing symptoms, utilizing screening tools, and implementing interventions. The overall vision is to improve support for patients and the community, thereby reducing negative health impacts.
