Customer Information Display (CID) System Procurement & Pilot Implementation

Long Beach Transit (LBT) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide a Customer Information Display (CID) system for potential fleet-wide deployment. As part of this procurement, LBT will incorporate a structured pilot program within the RFP process. Selected vendor(s) will be required to install and demonstrate their CID solutions of two (2) screens per bus on up to 5 buses for evaluation under real-world operating conditions. (One (1) Articulated New Flyer CNG, One (1) 40’ Gillig CNG, One (1) Battery Electric 40’ BYD, One (1) Battery Electric 40’ New Flyer, One (1) Battery Electric 35’ New Flyer) The objective is to identify the best overall solution based on performance, reliability, integration, maintainability, user experience, and cost-effectiveness. The CID system is intended for potential fleet-wide deployment of up to but not limited to 200 buses, following successful completion and evaluation of the pilot program. Participation in the pilot program does not guarantee contract award, selection for fleet-wide deployment, or any other future work related to this procurement. LBT reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, suspend, or terminate the pilot program at any time and for any reason, without obligation to award a contract or proceed with any subsequent phase of the project.
