Delta College

Delta College's 2023-2027 Strategic Plan serves as a roadmap to achieve its mission of empowering a diverse community to achieve personal, professional, and academic goals, and its vision of being a national leader in innovative community college education. The plan is structured around four strategic pillars: Student Engagement, Retention, and Completion; People Focus; Community-Centered; and Social Impact. It aims to foster a high-performing educational institution focused on improving completion and equity, and supporting students in achieving their goals with zero equity gaps. Key performance indicators target annual increases in student contact hour enrollment, student success rates, student retention, and IPEDS student completion rates.

The Board of Trustees conducted a budget hearing to examine the financial circumstances of the College District for the upcoming fiscal year. A resolution was read and adopted, establishing the estimated General Fund revenues and expenditures, and authorizing a tax levy of 2.0482 mills to be applied against taxable property within the district. Additionally, the Board adopted the 2026-2027 operating budget for the entire college, totaling over 128 million dollars, and granted the administration authority to make necessary fiscal modifications.

The Board of Trustees held a dinner meeting focused on the presentation and review of the 2026-2027 budget. The Vice President of Business and Finance provided a comprehensive overview of the budget planning process, emphasizing fiscal conservative practices, balanced budget goals, and alignment with strategic plans. Discussion topics included a national and state economic update, revenue and expenditure assumptions, state appropriations, property tax projections, and enrollment trends. Additionally, the presentation detailed specific fund allocations including general, designated, restricted, auxiliary, and plant funds, as well as upcoming facility projects.

The Board of Trustees held a regular meeting to conduct college business. Key discussion topics included the approval of the 2026-2027 Budget and Tax Levy Resolution, the adoption of two new Board policies regarding Artificial Intelligence and non-enrolled individuals in the classroom, and authorization for several infrastructure projects, including a Lon Based Controls upgrade, D Wing heat exchanger replacement, and repairs for the Gilford Tower. Additionally, the Board appointed a new FOIA Coordinator, received an administrative report on student success, and heard updates from the President on enrollment, personnel, and upcoming events.
