Lyons Board of Education Regular Meeting
The board meeting included presentations on the 6th-grade transition to middle school and an overview of the District's Special Education Plan. Several administrative and personnel actions were taken, including accepting multiple staff resignations, approving probationary and substitute appointments, and appointing individuals to roles such as FFA Advisor, McKinney-Vento Liaison, and various athletic coaching positions. The Board authorized an agreement with Dixon/Schwabl Advertising, Inc., the submission of unpaid school taxes for collection, and a $2,800,000 transfer of funds to a capital project. Additionally, the board accepted donations, certified a Lead Evaluator, approved non-public school transportation and non-resident student requests, and discussed various district communications, including athletic hall of fame inductions, grant awards, and college and career readiness initiatives. An executive session was held regarding litigation and personnel issues.
