City Council Special and Regular Meeting Minutes

The City Council held both a special and a regular meeting. During the special session, a public hearing was conducted regarding the property tax levy for the upcoming fiscal year. In the regular session, the council received the Hamilton County Growth Partnership quarterly report and approved the purchase of a new police vehicle. Other business included passing an ordinance for new electrical energy rates, setting a future public hearing for the fiscal year budget, and adopting the 2026 Iowa Statewide Urban Design Standards. Various resolutions were passed, including bids for asphalt crack sealing, concrete panel replacement, and asphalt patching services, as well as the approval of utility easements, support for an economic development job program, and mortgage and loan agreements for a childcare center. The council also scheduled a city-wide clean-up event.
