Claremont McKenna College Presidential Initiative

This document details Claremont McKenna College's Presidential Initiative on Anti-Racism and the Black Experience in America, a long-term effort to develop a structural and integrated educational response to racism, inequality, and inequity, and to find effective ways to end it. The initiative is built upon several key pillars: fostering community learning and engagement, enhancing student support and opportunities, driving faculty curricular development and diversifying faculty composition, promoting staff development and improving recruitment and retention for diverse staff, and ensuring transparency and accountability through measurable outcomes and public reporting. The intended outcome is to make all college opportunities accessible to every community member and to cultivate global leaders capable of addressing complex issues through critical thinking and open dialogue.
