The public hearing covered a range of topics relevant to senior centers. Discussions included senior employment opportunities, housing and home safety, and long-term care options. Transportation needs and potential volunteer driver programs were explored, along with nutrition and food security concerns, including menu improvements and food pantry resources. Senior center programs were reviewed, with suggestions for technology classes and discounted cosmetology services. The challenge of increasing participation in senior center activities was addressed, and legal and advocacy resources, such as the NM Senior Law Firm and Medicare advocacy, were discussed.
