The City of Port Aransas is holding a public hearing to inform citizens about the close-out of the Hurricane Harvey CDBG-DR Infrastructure project 20-065-143-C811, which focused on drainage improvements. The proposed budget for fiscal year 2026 (2025-26) is designed for quick and easy reading, in order to arm Council with the information it needs to review your management's advice, check policy and goal alignment, and allocate resources toward desired ends and programs. The needed funds to complete the recovery projects for Hurricane Harvey are included in this budget. The emphasis of this year's expenditures will concentrate on the completion of several capital projects for Hurricane Harvey, a new Animal Shelter, and providing City Services at a level that has become acceptable to the Citizens.

The council meeting focused on a dune permit application (BFDP 19-0090) from John Weaver to construct a single-family residence at 701 Silverleaf (Sunflower Beach). The application, previously approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission, was reviewed for consistency with the City's Coastal Management Plan. The council was asked to approve the dune permit application.

The council conducted a public hearing on the preliminary and final plat of the Blue Marlin Subdivision, Block 1, Lots 1 and 2. Citizen comments included concerns about signage and landscaping, and an offer of support for a Mariners Memorial.
