The meeting discussed the results of a study and survey pointing towards developing a manager supervisor training program. The survey, administered in March 2023 with over 12,000 responses from 62 agencies, highlighted that development support was rated lower compared to other areas like culture and job satisfaction. Focus groups, involving 81 employees from 29 agencies, reinforced the need for improved management training due to concerns about poor management experiences leading to attrition. The state of Georgia currently lacks an enterprisewide manager supervisor training program, and recommendations from the study include designing a pre-management and management training program with a focus on critical soft skills, managing remote workforces, and team leadership.
