Miami-Dade County Parks Recreation Open Spaces Department Virtual Meeting
This workshop focused on the Water Recreation Access Plan (WRAP), a strategic initiative designed to unify recommendations for improving public access to county waterways while maintaining environmental protection and economic sustainability. The presentation introduced three core planning concepts: a spectrum of recreation opportunities, compatible and shared use of waterfront assets, and connectivity between parks and natural resources. Participants engaged in live polling regarding their recreational habits—such as motorized versus non-motorized boating, shoreline use, and frequency of water body visits—to help inform future policy and infrastructure decisions.
