The board discussed public health initiatives including adult and childhood vaccine programs, tobacco control and prevention efforts, and updates on child safety seat distribution and child passenger safety training. Reports covered rabies incidents, environmental health inspections, nursing clinic activities related to tickborne illnesses, and programs for children with special needs. Furthermore, the board addressed the credentialing of Dr. MacQueen and reviewed upcoming community outreach events, including the Community Beach Party and initiatives for youth tobacco and vaping prevention.

The board discussed the integration of substance use disorder and mental health services and approved multiple new member nominations. Members authorized electronic voting for membership appointments to expedite processes. A survey for the local services plan was announced to establish future priorities. Community partners provided updates on mobile crisis services, system of care training, staffing challenges, nutrition programs, and new support resources. The meeting included a presentation by Cayuga Addiction Recovery Services regarding their services in Cortland. Discussion topics covered the impacts of the cancellation and reversal of a SAMHSA grant, as well as new requirements for benefit eligibility. Community partner updates were provided, highlighting the upcoming Mental Health Awareness walk, approval of an integrated supportive housing project, status updates on the Guthrie Cortland Medical Center mental health area, Department of Social Services administrative restructuring, the opening of the Grace Space day center, and school-based resource fair planning. Additionally, the Director's report and a monthly corporate compliance report were addressed.

The board reviewed several key items including a presentation on tick and tick-borne illness awareness, division reports from Health Education, Environmental Health, Nursing Clinic, and Children with Special Needs, as well as a discussion regarding credentialing and the July recess. The meeting also covered the approval of the 2026 Quality Improvement and Performance Management Plan, corporate compliance training updates, and reports on various health initiatives such as the Tobacco Free Zone, cancer service program outreach, lead poisoning prevention, and public health nursing clinic activities.
