The Alva Public Schools Strategic Goals document outlines key initiatives focused on curriculum and instruction, culture and community, personnel, and resources. In curriculum and instruction, the plan emphasizes mastering core content through research-based strategies and targeted interventions, increasing awareness of career pathways via ICAPs and community partnerships. Culture and community goals include improving involvement and satisfaction through communication and community engagement, improving student behavior via a district-wide behavior and character education plan, and developing quality programs such as enrichment activities, parent/student recognition, and after-school programs. The plan includes specific action steps, timelines, and projected benchmark performance measures for each goal area, using data-driven approaches to monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.

The Alva Public Schools 2019-2024 Strategic Plan is a comprehensive, stakeholder-driven plan focused on improving student academic performance and preparing students for college and/or careers. Key areas of focus include: enhancing curriculum and instruction through research-based strategies and targeted interventions; improving school culture and community engagement through improved communication, increased parent and community involvement, and the development of quality programs (enrichment, after-school, and recognition programs); recruiting, developing, and retaining high-quality staff through strategic recruitment, retention plans, and professional development; and optimizing resources by aligning school finances with strategic plan objectives and improving facilities through a capital improvement plan. The plan aims to ensure that all students, regardless of background, achieve high learning standards, graduate on time, and are college/career ready.
